Reissued with bonus tracks ("Aggressive Perfector" and a remix of "Criminally
Insane"). Songs were recorded for the "Postmortem" 12-inch single.

Def Jam/Geffen also released the album on red, purple and green vinyl, limited
edition picture vinyl with a different cover (bloody logo) and regular picture
vinyl.

Trivia: On all older versions of the CD and LP, "Postmortem" ends at 2:44
before the fast part. This error was corrected on the Expanded Edition reissue
CD.

Three different versions of the outro to "Raining Blood" exist. On some LP
versions, the sound of the storm is created by a looped groove which continues
indefinitely until the stylus is lifted. On other LP versions, the storm just
fades after about 15 seconds. On the CD and cassette version, the storm outro
lasts for 50 seconds.

The European first pressing on CD (Roadrunner Records, cat.-no. RR 349795) and
1993 Metal Blade remaster CD have the tracklist shown below.
The Metal Blade / Music For Nations re-release (cat.-no. CD ZORRO 8) features
the bonus tracks "Haunting The Chapel" (4:00)
and "Captor Of Sin" (3:32).

There's a CD copy of "Hell Awaits" where the inside of the cover is mis-printed
with the "Show No Mercy" lyrics.

The Japanese edition (PHCR-4112) features the same two bonus tracks as the
Metal Blade / MFN re-release.

The original had three songs. "Aggressive Perfector", from Metal Massacre 3,
was added only on the 1993 CD re-release by Metal Blade Records (cat.-no.
3984-14034). The CD first pressing on Roadrunner Records in 1989 (cat.-no. RR
2444 2) featured just the first 3 tracks.

Certain re-releases of this album include the "Haunting the Chapel" EP, as well
as the song "Aggressive Perfector", which was on Metal Massacre 3.

Another re-release just includes the song "Chemical Warfare" (06:02) at #11.

One Roadrunner version (released in 1984) has "Aggressive Perfector" as bonus
track, between "Metal Storm" and "Black Magic".

"Metal Classics" version includes extra tracks Aggressive Perfector and
Chemical Warfare.

The album was recorded in November 1983 and released a month later. The album
took only eight hours to record (from 11 pm to 7 am), so as to cut down studio
costs, which explains the poor production quality.

Gene Hoglan (ex-Death, Dark Angel, Testament, Strapping Young Lad) did backing
vocals for "Evil Has No Boundaries".
